A food vendor identified as Mrs Ukpai had a raw deal in the hands of the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Capital Territory Development, Mr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi, on Monday, as her food was poured away.
The woman broke down in tears as she watched her food being scattered on the sidewalk as punishment for hawking food in an unauthorised location.
Her rice cooler and the table she put it one were overturned into the open drainage beside the road.
In a video uploaded on YouTube by Wisdom Nwedene, the woman can be heard wailing openly after the incident. She said the destroyed food was the only means of getting money to feed her children at home.
