Anambra Governorship Election: Obiano Urges Ndi Anambra, Churches To Vote Wisely

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has called on churches and Ndi Anambra to vote wisely during the November sixth gubernatorial election in the state.

The governor made the call during the tenth year episcopal anniversary celebration of His Lordship, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo, at All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha.

Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that Governor Obiano, represented by his Deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, pointed out that Anambra State needs a governor that would consolidate on his achievements, hence the need for wise decision by the electorates on November six poll.

He called on churches in the state to always pray for the state and Nigeria in general, and to support the government at all times for effective leadership and development.

Governor Obiano then congratulated Bishop Nwokolo and wished him well in his remaining years of service to God and humanity.

Earlier in a sermon, the Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, who spoke through the Dean, Church of Nigeria, Most Reverend Ali-Buba Lamido, called on Christians to always serve God wholeheartedly while they still can, explaining that what counts in life is not the number of years one lived, but impacts made with the life.

Describing Bishop Nwokolo as a man that has distinguished himself creditably in the service of God in the diocese and beyond, the Primate prayed God to grant him more grace and anointing to continue in the work of propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The event, which featured special renditions by the choir and prayers for the Bishop, attracted Bishops, Archbishops, traditional rulers, notable businessmen, and politicians in their numbers.
