The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested and detained 42-year-old pop star D’banj, whose real name is Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo.
He was arrested and detained on Tuesday (December 6) after it was exposed that he colluded with some government officials and diverted N-Power funds, which was meant to reduce the unemployment rate among Nigerian youth.
He allegedly connived with government officials, created ghost beneficiaries, and paid the money into accounts that have been linked to him.
He’s currently detained at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja and is being investigated.
D’banj was said to have been ignoring summons from the commission before he was finally arrested Tuesday.
